Sweet, salty and crunchy, Hawaiian style Chex mix.
If you don't have disposable aluminum pans you can also use cookie sheets. To prepare cookie sheets, top 4 large cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Preheat oven to 225℉ (110℃.)
In the aluminum pans (or 2-4 of your largest mixing bowls), mix cereals, bugles and macadamia nuts together gently and set aside.
In a large sauce pan, add all of the sauce ingredients and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until the mixture starts to gently boil and thickens slightly-do not over cook or it could burn.
Pour sauce evenly over the cereal mixture and gently stir until combined and cereals are evenly coated.
Bake for 15 minutes at 225℉, remove from oven, evenly sprinkle furikake mixture over cereal and stir to combine. Return to oven and bake for another 15 minutes, stirring cereal and rotating pans every 15 minutes. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes total.
Remove from oven, stir and let cool. Once cooled, make sure the chex mix is dry and crisp, if not you can bake for additional time. Store in airtight containers and enjoy.
