Brown Sugar Oat Milk Iced Coffee

Brown Sugar Oat Milk Iced Coffee

I LOVE ICED COFFEE! Yes it should be in all caps. I will wear a sweater if I need to just to drink an iced coffee. You know I’m literally sitting here with an iced coffee next to me. It sounds like I have an addiction, and I probably do, but for me it’s a ritual and I count it as self care. If it brings me joy and improves my mental health I’m all in. The few minutes it takes to pour, froth, ice, mix, stir and sip is meditative. From the movement of making the drink to the way the coffee mixes in with the milk and ice, it’s hypnotic. I am under its spell. My favorite part is that once it’s done you have a delicious pick me up to get you through the day.

Brown Sugar Oat Milk Iced Coffee

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2-1 cup oat milk
  • 1/2-1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a tall pint glass add the instant coffee and brown sugar along with 1/2 cup of warm water. Stir until the coffee and sugar are dissolved.

  2. I love to use a handheld mini milk frother for this step, it creates a thick foam to top your iced coffee.

  3. Add ice to fill the glass 3/4 full, stir the ice into the coffee mixture.

  4. Gently pour 1/2 cup of the oat milk to the coffee mixture in the glass.

  5. Stir to combine and taste. Now you can adjust this to your taste by adding more oat milk or water.

  6. You can also adjust the instant coffee and sugar amounts to your preferences for next time. If you want to adjust these now add them to a little warm water to dissolve them first before adding to the iced coffee.
